At AMERiders we are all excited as there are 27 Days Left Until 77th Annual Sturgis Rally and we want to know Who’s Getting Ready to Go? For those of you who don’t know and that is probably very few that read this blog. Sturgis is one of the largest Motorcycle Rallies held every year and this one is just around the corner Being held August 4th thru the 13th this year.
What is Sturgis?
First of all, for those of you that don’t know, and who doesn’t know about Sturgis we are going to give you a run down real quick. The Sturgis® Motorcycle Rally™ has attracted motorcycle enthusiasts from around the world for 77 years. It’s grown to include bike shows, world-class entertainment, industry showcases, a wide variety of motorcycle related shopping opportunities. And most of all, miles and miles of incredible riding experiences. Most of all it also offers great food, entertainment, and motorcycling fun for all ages. While that may seem like a fun stop overload and you won’t be able to do it all, never fear. It’s an annual rally and you can always go back and start again where you left off.

Announcing Jessi Combs as the Grand Marshal
Sturgis Named Jessi Combs as Grand Marshal for 2017 Mayor’s Ride.
Known as the Fastest Woman on Four-Wheels, Black Hills native, Jessi Combs has been named the Grand Marshal for the 15th Annual Sturgis Mayor’s Ride scheduled to take place on Monday, August 7, 2017, during the Sturgis® Motorcycle Rally™.
“The City of Sturgis is very excited to have Jessi Combs join us as we celebrate the 77th Annual Sturgis® Motorcycle Rally™,” said Sturgis Mayor Mark Carstensen. “Her incredible love of everything fast is infectious and we look forward to spending time with her on the Mayor’s Ride and during our many other events taking place during the 2017 Rally.”
“I am honored to represent the Sturgis Rally, an event that holds over 30 years of unforgettable memories for me, as well as all the women who have helped pave the motorcycling path for so many others.” says Combs.
As a brand representative and product expert, Ms. Combs is currently developing a woman’s line of welding gear to help meet the needs of women who have chosen to follow their dreams in a non-traditional industry. She is also starting her own metal fabrication shop where “bad ass hot rods, motorcycles, custom trucks, race vehicles, and anything metal will originate with a feminine touch; where chicks can finally have a place to get dirty, be creative, use their skills, explore talents, go fast, and have fun in a comfortable working environment”.
Pappy Hoel Campground named Official Campground for Harley Owners Group
Harley-Davidson Motor Company and the Full Throttle Saloon’s Pappy Hoel Campground have partnered to name the Pappy Hoel Campground as the official campground for Harley Owners Group (H.O.G.) during the 77th annual motorcycle rally in Sturgis, SD.
The partnership offers the following benefits to all H.O.G. members with a valid H.O.G. membership: A 10% discount on Pappy Hoel Campground wristbands, which grant admission to all concerts, events, and entertainment at the Full Throttle Saloon/Pappy Hoel Campground; Additionally, wristbands qualify H.O.G. members for:
- Daily random drawings for prizes and premiums, exclusive to H.O.G. members;
- Preferred pricing with select on-site vendors on the Full Throttle Saloon/Pappy Hoel Campground property, exclusive to H.O.G. members;
- Preferred pricing at a H.O.G.-branded bar in the Full Throttle Saloon
- All H.O.G. members attending the rally will be invited to the official H.O.G. welcome party at the Pappy Hoel Campground Pool, on Tuesday, August 8, featuring live entertainment, drink specials, prize raffles and more. Additional details to be announced on pappyhoelcampground.com soon.
- An invitation to join the 17th annual Pappy Hoel Charity Motorcycle Ride from the Full Throttle Saloon to the Stone House, on Wednesday, August 8. Proceeds will be split between a local charity (in the past, the funds have provided a scholarship to a local school and been donated to the Sturgis Fire Department) and designated H.O.G. charities.

Concerts this year at the 77th Annual Sturgis Rally
The Sturgis® Motorcycle Rally™ is home to 10 days and nights of some of the best music in the country. From local, home-grown bands to up-and-coming regional acts to full-blown, national concerts, we’ve got it all and we want to share it all with you! This year you wouldn’t believe who is going to be there here are just a few of the acts we saw when scanning the list on the Sturgis website. Rolling Thunder (AC/DC Tribute Band), David Allan Coe, Shinedown, The Doobie Brothers, Lynard Skynard, Insane Clown Possee, and the man himself Ozzy Osbourne.
