Harley-Davidson is rolling out some new models in 2016 and we at AMERiders thought we would give you the scoop on what they are. There will be 8 new models coming for Harley lovers to drool and fawn over and even go to their local dealership and snatch up. They have also rolled out a campaign called “Live your Legend” in which they say “If you wait to live your dreams, your kids will miss the lesson. Set the example by living yours, today.”
So what are these 8 new models that Harley-Davidson has in store for us? They are listed below with you information from what Harley is saying about them.
Forty-Eight® – This iconic motorcycle has been reborn. Everything that was great about it has been cranked up to a more intense level. Better seat. Better suspension. New lightweight mag wheels. Awesome brakes. And now the tank is sporting 70’s inspired graphics. Welcome to the next page of history is written in Dark Custom™ iron.”
Iron 883™– was one of the early Dark Custom™ motorcycles. A dark pioneer of raw, blacked-out, stripped-down custom aggression.So the question was: how do you make something that good better? Here’s the answer. You build on it. All new suspension. A new rolled leather seat. Jaw-dropping new pipes and wheels. All the details dialed in tight. The all-new Iron 883™ motorcycle. Heritage Softail® Classic -This gorgeous baby drips with the nostalgia of days gone by, but that’s only half of the equation for the rider of today. SuperLow® – This is about falling in love with the ride. It doesn’t matter if it’s your first time, or if you’re a veteran of countless miles on the pavement. When you throw a leg over the SuperLow® model, every feeling you get will be a good one. From the new saddle and new suspension to the low center of gravity and light, easy-handling frame, this machine is built to make any rider one with the road. Does it get any better than that?
SuperLow® 1200T – If ever a motorcycle could turn a trip to the corner store into a cross-country trek, the SuperLow® 1200T model is the one. You’ve got a light, nimble frame for easy handling. Detachable windshield and lockable saddlebags for the open road. A new seat for all-day comfort. And a low center of gravity coupled with an all-new suspension that lets you eat tight city traffic and twisting miles of highway with equal ease. Fire it up. See where it takes you.
Softail Slim®– Everything that was great about the Softail Slim® and added a little more. For starters, we’ve added power with a Screamin’ Eagle® Air-Cooled Twin Cam 110B™ engine. We’ve taken the military theme even further with an awesome Olive Gold Denim paint option and made the rest black to the core. Black triple clamp and riser, gloss black headlamp ring, fork slider covers, and lower forks. Black brake levers, mirrors and black over/under shotgun exhaust with slash cut muffler. Every inch is modern power with old-iron attitude.
Fat Boy® S– Takes dark to a new level. A powerful one. New gloss black Screamin’ Eagle® Air-Cooled Twin Cam 110B™ engine, gloss black lower forks, axle nut covers, handlebar and riser. Black brake lever and hydraulic clutch assembly. Black over/under shotgun exhaust with slash cut mufflers. Take our word for it, it is blacked out from front to back and head to toe in attitude.
And that is not all there are a few other changes to be made such as :At public request, the Street 750 and 500 models get upgraded Brembo brakes.

2.All the members of the Softail family feature for the first time electronic throttle and cruise control as standard.
3.The 2016 Heritage Softail Classic enjoys refreshed styling and a new engine, the air-cooled High Output Twin Cam 103.
4.The High Output Twin Cam 103 is as of 2015 the standard engine for all Dyna models – although for some reason the Street Bob is excluded from this update.
